I don’t know about you but in the winter my cravings for warm dessert sky rockets. Banana Bread being one of my top cravings every year. Now you may also be wondering who Mama G is. Well my mother of course! She has been known as Mama G for a long time and her banana bread is simply amazing.
But back to the food… what I love about banana bread is it is not just a dessert, you can toast it and add some butter on top in the morning and ta-da breakfast is done. But enough of my talking, here is the recipe to Mama G’s Banana Bread!
What you will need!
- 3 large ripe bananas
- 1 cup of sugar
- 1 egg
- 4 tbsp butter (melted and cooled)
- 1 1/2 cup of flour
- 1 tsp of salt
- 1tsp of baking soda
Let’s get started!
Preheat oven at 325 degrees and lightly grease the loaf pan.
Peel and then mash the bananas in a big bowl.
After mashing the bananas, beat in the sugar, egg, and butter.
In another bowl, stir together the flour, salt, and baking soda.
Once you mix together these dry ingredients, add them to the banana mixture.
*You can add chocolate chips or walnuts (1/2 cup)*
Once everything is mixed together, add it to the lightly greased loaf pan and stick into the oven for 55-65 minutes.
Your banana bread should be golden brown on the top but make sure to check the middle before pulling it out of the oven! No one likes undercooked banana bread.
